Historical E-Blast Messages

Brothers,
In order to set up the Parish Hall for Easter Mass at Saint Paul’s, Brother Paul Hecht would like our help. If you have time on March 21st at 9am in the morning, please let him know. It should not take more than an hour, but he would appreciate our help in getting the chairs setup in the Hall.

Brothers,
Jim Gehrum is holding an AED/CPR training class on Tuesday July 18th from 5:30-7:00pm at our Council Hall. We have the AED device in the Hall and it would be great for as many Brothers as possible to be trained on the use of it. Hopefully we never need to use it, but if we do, let’s make sure we know how to use it!. It can save a life! The training will include hands on training with our own Automatic External Defibrillator (AED. I hope to see you there!
If you can attend, you need to reserve your spot by contacting Jim Gehrum. You must register with Jim for this event, he needs to plan for the correct number of students.

Brothers,
We have been presented with a potentially lucrative fund raiser in late September.

The National Hunting and Fishing Day organization holds a six hour event every year (on September 30 this year) at South Cove, on Lake Keowee.   The chair person of the steering committee had asked Jim Gehrum if he knew a group that could effectively provide lunch for 500 to 1,000 people.  Since Jim is already involved in another group supporting this event, he recommended that I contact the chair person to secure our participation in the event.

Bill Johnston has stepped forward to lead a K of C group to provide sausages, hot dogs and drinks for this event.

Bob Brohm will help as best he can but his focus must remain on Oktoberfest which is only three weeks later than the planned South Cove event.

I need four Knights to join a committee to help Bill plan the purchases, organization and logistics to make this a successful fund raiser for the Council.
We will need at least 10 more Knights and family members to help out on September 30 to meet the needs of the event attendees.

If you can work on the committee or can help out on event day, please let Bill know.

The first committee meeting will take place in July.

This could turn into a regular yearly fund raising event for the Council but we need to get it right the first time.  Step forward and help out.  Thank you for your support.
