Grand Knight’s Corner: My thanks to all the Knights that helped out at the Pendleton Spring Festival and the Area 13 Spring Games. We have several events during the next several months, including HOPE and our Special Olympics Golf Tournament. I am counting on everyone to step up and make these events a success. Council 6884 has been selected by the Knights’ national organization for a pilot program to create beds for the needy in a program called “Sleep in Heavenly Peace.” More about this effort in future bulletins. Vivat Jesus! Tom Zavertnik, Grand Knight

Columbus HOPE Campaign: We will continue the Spring HOPE Campaign at the WalMart in Seneca on April 19 & 20 and at Bountyland locations on April 26 & 27 Knights, please be ready to volunteer for several shifts when you are contacted. Also, you do not have to be a Knight to help with this project. Frank Kler

State Raffle Ticket Fundraiser: Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket this year. We had a record breaking year, selling 764 tickets. This level of sales will return $1910 to our council to support our local charities. We have also applied for grants from the State Council for additional funding for our local charities. Good luck to all who bought a ticket as the winners will be drawn on April 6th.

Spring Games: Area 13 held their Spring Games at Southern Wesleyan University on April 12.

Congratulations to all the special athletes that competed. Our Council cooked and served free hotdogs and provided water and soft drinks, for all participants. Thank you to all the volunteers that helped make this a great day for the athletes.

Special Olympics Golf Tournament: Our Golf Committee has started working on the tournament to benefit Area 13. It will be held at Oconee Country Club on Tuesday, May 14. Knights interested in helping and golfers interested in playing, should contact Jim Zavertnik for more details.

Walhalla PAC Concert: Council 6884 will host a concert at the Walhalla Performing Arts Center on Saturday, June

15, featuring Chi-Town Transit Authority. This is a rousing musical performance that benefits Knights’ charities and features hits from the group Chicago. A patriotic preshow starts at 7 PM, so come early to enjoy every minute of this performance. For ticketing information: please call 864.638.5277 or visit < www.WalhallaPAC.com >

Sleep in Heavenly Peace: Council 6884 was selected by the Knights’ national organization (Supreme) to pilot a “build a bed” program. Supreme is funding the build of 20 beds at $250 per bed. We are partnering with the local Sleep in Heavenly Peace chapter to build the beds on May 18th. Tommy Davis is leading this effort for the council.

Safe Environment Program: All Knights that want to help at events on the parish campus must complete the Diocesan Safe Environment program. In addition, if you are handling funds, you are required to undergo a “soft” credit check. The council leadership encourages all Knights to spend the time and effort to get certified. Please contact Paul Hecht at Saint Paul’s or Nancy Leininger at Saint Andrew’s with your questions.
